heartbreaking realities of the burn unit.

Words from the Burn Unit Volunteer Team:

DHAKA MEDICAL , 24 February 2026 - "When you see these dark and painful images,

you may think it is Palestine, Syria, or Gaza.

But sadly, this is Bangladesh.

"If you visit a burn unit, you will see heartbreaking scenes.

Some children are burned by heaters or electric shock.

Some are injured by boiling water or hot rice starch.

When 15%, 25%, or even 35% of a small body is burned,

sometimes even their faces become hard to recognize.

The pain of burn injuries is beyond words.

It cannot truly be explained.

But the suffering does not stop there.

💔 Another painful truth: Treatment is very expensive

Most patients who come to Dhaka Medical or the National Burn Unit are very poor.

In government hospitals, there is no doctor fee or bed fee.

But the real cost of treatment is somewhere else:

  • Expensive injections and medicines
  • Operation costs
  • Blood and plasma
  • Long-term dressing and care

Many parents sell their rickshaw, their small land,

or take high-interest loans to save their child.

But after weeks or months,

many families simply cannot continue.

Some children are forced to stop treatment halfway

because there is no money left.

🌱 Our Mission

No child should go back without treatment because of money.

Our project stands beside those helpless families

who cannot afford the cost.

We do not give only temporary help.

We take full responsibility for a child’s treatment —

including operations, medicines, and injections —

until the child becomes well and leaves the hospital.

⚠️ Our Current Limitation

We run this work with donations from the people of Bangladesh.

But right now, due to lack of funds,

we can support only 2 children per month.

We receive hundreds of requests.

Being able to help only 1 or 2 children

is truly heartbreaking.

🎯 Our Goal

We want to support at least 2 children every week

with full treatment.
